We’ve been reflecting recently on the incredible truth of God’s generosity, especially when it comes to the spiritual gifts He bestows upon His church. It's a topic close to our hearts as a pentecostal church London, knowing that God empowers each of us for His glory.
God's Generosity in Gifting
Isn't it amazing to think that the same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells within us? And not only that, but He actively distributes gifts to us as He determines. The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." This isn't just theory; it's a living, breathing reality that we see in action within our christian community Greenwich. So, how do we begin to operate in these gifts? Firstly, through prayer and seeking God’s guidance. Ask Him to reveal to you how He desires to use you. Secondly, through practice and stepping out in faith. Sometimes, you discover your gift by simply trying to serve where there's a need. Perhaps you feel a stirring to pray for someone, or to offer a word of encouragement, or to help organise an event. Don't second-guess yourself; just take that step! As you yield to the Holy Spirit, He will empower you and your gift will flourish. This journey of discovery and service deepens our faith and strengthens our walk with Christ, not just individually, but collectively as a part of the greater south east london churches committed to seeing God's kingdom come.
A Prayer for Impartation and Discovery
Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your boundless generosity and for the gift of Your Holy Spirit who dwells within us. We pray, Lord, that You would open the eyes of our hearts to see the unique gifts You have deposited within each one of us. Stir up the anointing, Holy Spirit, and empower us to use our talents and abilities for Your glory and for the building up of Your church. Help us to serve with love, humility, and boldness. May Fresh Grace Global Christian Center be a place where every gift is celebrated and activated, so that Your light shines ever brighter in Woolwich, Greenwich, and all of London.
